Problems with installing drivers - E-MU 1616 PCI
Hello, Please help as i think i have done almost everything... I can't get my E-MU 1616 PCI driver installed. I got error 'Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system. Setup will exit'... And nothing is working. Couple of things i have tried already: 1. Disable Motherboard sound card. 2. Reinstalling Windows twice. Always after reinstallation i chose 'Cancel' when new audio controller was found by the system to start up CD with drivers. 3. IRQ ports conflict - i thought maybe there is something like that. I changed the PCI port of the sound card. DIdn't help.
What can i do more ? To be honest i'm really angry now as this kind of product (i mean quality of sound etc.) should not have so big problems with installations. I have latest drivers and Patchmix .exe files also. The same error when starting them.
One important thing still - i managed to install it when i bought it but also with those problems. I can't remember now really what i have done at that time but now nothing works... Please advice if possible. I'd be really grateful ! BR

Re: Problems with installing drivers - E-MU 1616 PCI
With the EMU in the computer (driver not necessary yet), click on the "Start" menu, do "Run" and type in "msinfo32" (no quotes) and click on "OK". Left-click on the plus (+) sign next to "Hardware Resources", then on "IRQs". The IRQ table will show in the right-hand pane. If you left-click on the column heading above the IRQ numbers, it'll sort the numbers ascending. (Win2k labels the column "IRQ Number, XP names it "Resource" - I haven't a clue about Vista or Win7.) If you click-and-drag in that pane, it'll select the text. Don't select any IRQs above 24, if yours goes that high. Just zero to 23 will do. Do a <Ctrl><C> to copy the info, then <Ctrl><P> to paste it into a text window here. Some of the folks here can look at it and advise from there. You've got a conflict with something in there...

http://www.emu.com/Collect the latest drivers from here. I suspect you may have a corrupted CD which is fairly common and may be cured by cleaning the disk with warm water and soap. If I'm wrong then jmails suggestion is still a good one.
